Today

Today the little people have quite a challenge.
They must compete for space with the rules the administration is making for it's friends, i.e. tax law that shift the burden of running the country erom the people that derive the most benefit to the people who can ill afford to pay more for what they are allowed to scrape off the table.
They must compete with Stockholders whose only concern is higher prices or bigger dividends.
Those who haven't given up on trying to do better get two jobs work many hours over time and miss many of the good times with his/her family, i.e. seeing the kids school play, concert or game.
These are things that don't count in the now current version of capitalism.
The challenge to those on top is to see what they do really affects other peoples lives.
Not by making "Grand Gestures" by giving large sums of money to their favorite charity, which probably benefits them more than the simple tax deduction, but by finding a way to put humanity back into this country. The charitable contributions are needed, but it has become chic to build a trust and give of their largess for political reasons. Few people donate large sums anonymously and fewer for purely unselfish reasons. Most of these large sums are from the efforts of others who do not share in the big prize nor the good that befalls the giver.
There has to be a way of making the USA really a land of promise.

Please post your ideas, and or criticisms.
